DTC P1606-308: Collision has been detected or Collision Sensor Connection (Open); DTC P1606-317: Collision has been detected or Collision Sensor Connection (Open): Procedure

  1. VEHICLE FOR COLLISION DAMAGE 
    1. Check the vehicle condition.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      The vehicle is not damaged. A
      The vehicle is damaged. B

    B → REPAIR VEHICLE 

    A: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (EV) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / EV / Trouble Codes.
    4. Check if DTCs related to the EV control system are output.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Only P1606 is output or P1606 and DTCs other than P0A1D are also output. A
      P0A1D is output. B
    5. Turn the power switch off.

    B → See step   8 

    A: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK AIRBAG SYSTEM 
    1. Troubleshoot the airbag system. Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING .

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      The system is normal. A
      There is a malfunction in the system. B

    B → REPAIR MALFUNCTIONING PARTS, COMPONENT AND AREA 

    A: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK INFORMATION CODE 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / EV / Trouble Codes.
    4. Access the freeze frame data of DTC P1606 and read the INF code.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      INF code 308 is output. A
      INF code 317 is output. B
    5. Turn the power switch off.

    B → See step   5 

    A → See step   9 

  5. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (EV) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / EV / Trouble Codes.
    4. Check if DTCs related to the EV control system are output.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      One or two of the following conditions are met. A
      All of the following conditions are met. B
        DTC Output Status
      1 DTC P3107-213 or P3107-214 is output.
      2 DTC U0151-763 is output.
      3 DTC U0110-160 or U0110-657 is output.
    5. Turn the power switch off.

    B → See step   7 

    A: Go to next step 

  6. POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU MUST BE REPLACED 
    1. Even though it has been determined that the power management control ECU needs to be replaced, make sure to inspect the voltage difference between No. 1 EV battery and No. 2 EV battery before replacing it.

  7. GO TO DTC CHART (HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM). Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART 
  8. GO TO DTC CHART (P0A1D). Refer to  DTC P0A1D-144: EV Control Module; DTC P0A1D-148: EV Control Module; DTC P0A1D-162: EV Control Module; DTC P0A1D-187: EV Control Module; DTC P0A1D-721: EV Control Module; DTC P0A1D-722: EV Control Module; DTC P0A1D-723: EV Control Module; DTC P0A1D-787: EV Control Module; DTC P0A1D-818: EV Control Module; DTC P0A1D-821: EV Control Module; DTC P0A1D-822: EV Control Module; DTC P0A1D-823: EV Control Module 
  9. REPLACE AIRBAG ECU ASSEMBLY. Refer to  COMPONENTS 
  10. GO TO NO. 1 EV BATTERY - NO. 2 EV BATTERY VOLTAGE DIFFERENCE INSPECTION. Refer to  No. 1 EV Battery - No. 2 EV Battery Voltage Difference Inspection
