Roof Headlining: Installation

CAUTION: Some of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system. Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing (See PRECAUTION ).
  1. INSTALL ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  2. INSTALL ROOF WIRE 
    1. Install the roof wire onto the roof headlining with 7 new pieces of tape.
      MARK MEASUREMENT SPECIFICATION

      Mark Measurement
      a 80 mm (3 15 in)
      b 20 mm (0 787 in)
      NOTE:
      • Apply the tape securely in place.
      • Do not touch the adhesive surface when applying the tape to prevent adhesion failure.

  3. INSTALL REAR SIDE RAIL SPACER RH 
    1. Install the 2 double-sided tapes.
    2. Align the rear side rail spacer with the markings on the roof headlining and install it onto the roof headlining.

  4. INSTALL REAR SIDE RAIL SPACER LH 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedure as for the RH side.

  5. INSTALL REAR ROOF SILENCER PAD 
    1. Install the double-sided tape.
    2. Align the rear roof silencer pad with the markings of the roof headlining and install them onto the roof headlining.

  6. INSTALL ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY 
    1. Pull the roof headlining back into the vehicle through the back door.

    2. Install the clip.

    3. Engage the 5 clamps.
    4. Connect the roof wire connector.

    5. Engage the 3 clamps.
    6. Connect the antenna cord connector.

  7. INSTALL SEAT BELT ANCHOR COVER  (See INSTALLATION )

  9. INSTALL REAR CENTER SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  10. INSTALL UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  11. INSTALL COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY  (See REASSEMBLY )
  12. INSTALL INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See REASSEMBLY )
  13. INSTALL GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  14. INSTALL INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH CENTER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  15. INSTALL MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect the map light connector.

    2. Engage the 4 claws and install the map light.

  16. INSTALL ROOM LIGHT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Engage the 4 claws and install the room light switch base.

    2. Install the roof wire into the claw on the room light.
    3. Engage the 4 claws and install the room light.

    4. Engage the 4 claws and install the 2 room light covers.

    5. Engage the 4 claws and install the room light lens.

  17. INSTALL VISOR HOLDER RH 
    1. Engage the 2 claws.
    2. Push in the visor holder as shown in the illustration.

  18. INSTALL VISOR HOLDER LH 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedure as for the RH side.

  19. INSTALL VISOR ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Engage the 2 springs and install the visor.

    2. Install the visor shaft into the visor holder.
    3. Engage the 4 claws and install the visor cover.

  20. INSTALL VISOR ASSEMBLY LH 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedure as for the RH side.

  21. INSTALL ASSIST GRIP 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedure to install all assist grips.

    1. Engage the 2 springs and install the assist grip.

    2. Engage the 2 claws and install the assist grip covers.

  22. INSTALL FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH 
    1. Remove the protective cover.

    2. Install a new front pillar garnish clip onto the front pillar garnish.
    3. Engage the 2 clips and guide and the claw and install the front pillar garnish.

    4. Remove the protective tape.

  23. INSTALL FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedure as for the RH side.

  24. INSTALL CENTER PILLAR UPPER GARNISH RH 
    1. Engage the 2 clips and the guide and install the center pillar upper garnish.

  25. INSTALL CENTER PILLAR UPPER GARNISH LH 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedure as for the RH side.

  26. INSTALL CENTER PILLAR LOWER GARNISH RH 
    1. Engage the 2 clips and the 4 claws and install the center pillar lower garnish.

  27. INSTALL CENTER PILLAR LOWER GARNISH LH 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedure as for the RH side.

  28. INSTALL FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Install the through anchor with the bolt.

      Torque: 42 N*m (428 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf)

  29. INSTALL FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedure as for the RH side.

  30. INSTALL SEAT BELT ANCHOR COVER CAP 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedure for both sides.

    1. Engage the 3 claws and install the seat belt anchor cover cap.

  31. INSTALL ROOF SIDE INNER GARNISH ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Pass the rear seat outer belt through the slit in the roof side inner garnish.
    2. Engage the 5 clips and the 2 claws and install the roof side inner garnish.

    3. Install the clip.
  32. INSTALL ROOF SIDE INNER GARNISH ASSEMBLY LH 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedure as for the RH side.

  33. INSTALL DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Engage the 4 clips, the 7 claws and the screw and install the deck trim side panel.

  34. INSTALL DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Connect the luggage compartment light connector.
    2. Engage the 4 clips, the 7 claws and the screw and install the deck trim side panel.

  35. INSTALL REAR SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Install the floor anchor and engage the 2 claws.

    2. Install the bolt.

      Torque: 42 N*m (428 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf) 

    3. Install the belt into the rear seat shoulder belt hunger.
  36. INSTALL REAR SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedure as for the RH side.

  37. INSTALL LUGGAGE HOLD BELT STRIKER ASSEMBLY 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedure for both sides,

    1. Install the luggage hold belt striker with the bolt.

      Torque: 18 N*m (184 kgf*cm, 13 ft.*lbf)

  38. INSTALL REAR DECK TRIM COVER 
    1. Engage the 2 clips, 4 the claws and install the rear deck trim cover.

  39. INSTALL REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH 
    1. Align the paint mark on the weatherstrip and the protruding portion on the body indicated by the arrow in the illustration, and install the rear door opening trim weatherstrip.

  40. INSTALL REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedure as for the RH side.

  41. INSTALL REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH 
    1. Engage the 6 claws and install the rear door scuff plate.

  43. INSTALL FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH 
    1. Align the paint mark on the weatherstrip and the protruding portion on the body indicated by the arrow in the illustration, and install the front door opening trim weatherstrip.

    2. Install the 2 screws.
