Inspection Procedure
- CONFIRM DTC OUTPUT (CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM)
- Connect a Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch on and turn the tester on.
- Check for DTCs and note any codes that are output (See DTC CHECK / CLEAR ).
- Clear the DTC (See DTC CHECK / CLEAR ).
- Recheck for DTCs (See DTC CHECK / CLEAR
).

- Connect a Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch on and turn the tester on.
- Check for DTCs and note any codes that are output (See DTC CHECK / CLEAR ).

- Recheck for DTCs (See DTC CHECK / CLEAR
).

- PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (TACHOMETER)
- Connect a Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch on and turn the tester on.
- Operate the Techstream according to the display and select "Active Test" (See DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST
).
Body Electrical / Combination meter / Active Test:
BODY ELECTRICAL / COMBINATION METER / ACTIVE TESTTester Display Test Part Control Range Tachometer Operation 0 /1,000 / 2,000 / 3,000 / 4,000 / 5,000 / 6,000 / 7,000 rpm Value selected during Active Test is displayed OK: Engine speed displayed on the tester is approximately the same as that of the tachometer reading.
NG: REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )
OK: Go to Next Step
- READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (TACHOMETER)
- Connect a Techstream to the DLC3.
- Engine start and turn the tester on.
- Operate the Techstream according to the display and select "Data List" (See DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST
).
