Roof Headlining: Installation

CAUTION: Some of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system. Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing (See PRECAUTION ).
  1. INSTALL NO. 2 ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  2. INSTALL ROOF WIRE 
    1. Align the 5 slit marks on the roof wire with the marks on the roof headlining, as shown in the illustration.
    2. Align the joiner box for the roof wire with the marks on the roof headlining.
    3. Install the roof wire onto the roof headlining with 10 new pieces of tape.
      NOTE:
      • Apply the tape securely in place.
      • Do not touch the adhesive surface when applying the tape to prevent adhesion failure.

  3. INSTALL FRONT SIDE RAIL SPACER RH 
    1. Install the 2 double-sided tapes.
    2. Align the front side rail spacer with the markings on the roof headlining and install it onto the roof headlining.
  4. INSTALL FRONT SIDE RAIL SPACER LH 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedure as for the RH side

  5. INSTALL ROOF HEADLINING PAD RH 
    1. Install the 8 double-sided tapes
    2. Align the roof headlining pad with the markings on the roof headlining and install it onto the roof headlining.

  6. INSTALL ROOF HEADLINING PAD LH 
    1. Install the 8 double-sided tapes.
    2. Align the roof headlining pad with the markings on the roof headlining and install it onto the roof headlining.

  7. INSTALL NO. 1 ROOF SILENCER PAD 
    1. Install the 5 double-sided tapes.
    2. Align the 5 No. 1 roof silencer pads with the markings on the roof headlining and install them onto the roof headlining.

  8. INSTALL NO. 3 ROOF PANEL PAD 
    1. Install the double-sided tape.
    2. Align the No. 3 roof panel pad with the markings on the roof headlining and install it onto the roof headlining.

  9. INSTALL NO. 4 ROOF PANEL PAD 
    1. Install the double-sided tape.
    2. Align the No. 4 roof panel pad with the markings on the roof headlining and install it onto the roof headlining.

  10. INSTALL NO. 1 ROOF SILENCER 
    1. Install the 2 double-sided tapes.
    2. Align the 2 No. 1 roof silencers with the markings on the roof headlining and install them onto the roof headlining.

  11. INSTALL ROOF HEADLINING 
    1. Pull the roof headlining back into the vehicle through the back door.

    2. Install the 5 clips.

    3. Install the bracket with the bolt.

      Torque: 7.0 N*m (71 kgf*cm, 62 in.*lbf) 

    4. Connect the 2 connectors.

    5. Engage the 5 clamps.
    6. Connect the roof wire to the harness clamp.
    7. Connect the roof wire connector.

    8. Engage the 4 clamps
    9. Connect the antenna cord connector.

  12. INSTALL UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  13. INSTALL GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  14. INSTALL COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  15. INSTALL INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  16. INSTALL INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH LOWER PANEL  (See INSTALLATION )
  17. INSTALL INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH CENTER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  18. INSTALL MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect the map light connector.

    2. Engage the 4 claws and install the map light.

  19. INSTALL ROOM LIGHT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Engage the 4 claws and install the room light switch base.
    2. Install the roof wire into the claw on the room light.

    3. Engage the 4 claws and install the room light.

    4. Engage the 4 claws and install the 2 room light covers.

    5. Engage the 4 claws and install the room light lens.

  20. INSTALL VISOR HOLDER 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedure as for the RH side.

    1. Engage the 2 claws.
    2. Push in the visor holder and turn it approximately 45° as shown in the illustration.

  21. INSTALL VISOR ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Engage the 2 clips and install the visor.
    2. Install the visor shaft into the visor holder.

    3. Engage the 4 claws and install the visor cover.

  22. INSTALL VISOR ASSEMBLY LH 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedure as for the RH side.

  23. INSTALL ASSIST GRIP 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedure to install all assist grips.

    1. Engage the 2 clips and install the assist grip.

    2. Engage the 4 claws and install the 2 assist grip covers.

  24. INSTALL FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH 
    1. Remove the protective cover.

    2. Install a new front pillar garnish clip onto the front pillar garnish.
    3. Engage the 2 guides and 2 clips and install the front pillar garnish.
  25. INSTALL FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedure as for the RH side.

  26. INSTALL CENTER PILLAR UPPER GARNISH RH 
    1. Engage the guide and 2 clips and install the center pillar upper garnish.
  27. INSTALL CENTER PILLAR UPPER GARNISH LH 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedure as for the RH side.

  28. INSTALL CENTER PILLAR LOWER GARNISH RH 
    1. Engage the guide, 3 claws and 2 clips and install the center pillar lower garnish.

    HINT:

    Use the same procedure as for the RH side.

  30. INSTALL FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Install the through anchor with the bolt.

      Torque: 41 N*m (420 kgf*cm, 30 ft.*lbf) 

  31. INSTALL FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedure as for the RH side

  32. INSTALL SEAT BELT ANCHOR COVER CAP 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedure for both sides, (a) Engage the 3 claws and install the seat belt anchor cover cap.

  33. INSTALL ROOF SIDE INNER GARNISH ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Pass the rear seat outer belt through the slit in the roof side inner garnish.
    2. Engage the 7 clips and install the roof side inner garnish.
    3. Install the clip.

  34. INSTALL ROOF SIDE INNER GARNISH ASSEMBLY LH 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedure as for the RH side.

  35. INSTALL DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Engage the 7 claws and 6 clips and install the deck trim side panel.
    2. Install the clip

  36. INSTALL DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Connect the luggage compartment light connector.
    2. Engage the 7 claws and 6 clips and install the deck trim side panel
    3. Install the clip.

  37. INSTALL REAR SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Install the floor anchor with the bolt.

      Torque: 41 N*m (420 kgf*cm, 30 ft.*lbf) 

    2. Install the belt into the rear seat shoulder belt hanger

  38. INSTALL REAR SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedure as for the RH side.

  39. INSTALL REAR SEAT BACK HINGE 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedure for both sides.

    1. Install the rear seat back hinge with the bolt

      Torque: 18 N*m (185 kgf*cm, 13 ft.*lbf)

  40. INSTALL LUGGAGE HOLD BELT STRIKER ASSEMBLY 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedure for both sides, (a) Install the 2 luggage hold belt strikers with the 2 bolts.

  41. INSTALL REAR DECK TRIM COVER 
    1. Engage the 4 clips, 4 claws and 2 guides and install the rear deck trim cover.

  42. INSTALL REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH 
    1. Align the paint mark on the weatherstrip and the protruding portion on the body indicated by the arrow in the illustration, and install the rear door opening trim weatherstrip.

    HINT:

  44. INSTALL REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH 
    1. Engage the 8 claws and install the rear door scuff plate.

  46. INSTALL FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH 
    1. Align the paint mark on the weatherstrip and the protruding portion on the body indicated by the arrow in the illustration, and install the front door opening trim weatherstrip.
