Inspection Procedure

HINT: Start the inspection from step  1 when using the hand-held tester, and start from step  2 when not using the hand-held tester.

  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY HAND-HELD TESTER (TRAC OFF INDICATOR LAMP) 
    1. Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3.
    2. Start the engine.
    3. Select "TRAC OFF LIGHT" in the ACTIVE TEST and operate the TRAC OFF indicator lamp on the hand-held tester.
    4. Check that "ON" and "OFF" of the TRAC OFF indicator lamp can be shown on the combination meter with the hand-held tester.

    VSC/TRCOFFIND Turns VSC / TRAC OFF indicator lamp ON / OFF Observe combination meter
    1. NG : Go to step   4 
    2. OK : GO TO NEXT STEP. 
  2. INSPECT TRACTION CONTROL SWITCH 
    1. Remove the traction control switch.
    2. Disconnect the traction control switch connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the table below.

    Standard: 

    SWITCH CONDITION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

    Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
    +(T6-5) - -(T6-2) Pushed (ON) 1 Ω or less
    +(T6-5) - -(T6-2) Not pushed (OFF) 10 kΩ or higher

    1. NG : REPLACE TRACTION CONTROL SWITCH 
    2. OK : GO TO NEXT STEP. 
  3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (SKID CONTROL ECU - TRAC OFF SWITCH) 
    1. Disconnect the skid control ECU connector and the TRAC control switch connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the table below.

    Standard: 

    TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

    Tester Connection Specified Condition
    CSW (S1 -43) - +(T6-5) Below 1 Ω
    CSW (S1-43) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
    E (T6-2) - Body ground Below 1 Ω

    1. NG : REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    2. OK : REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSY (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
    NOTE: When replacing the brake actuator assy, perform the zero point calibration (see CALIBRATION  ).
  4. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (COMBINATION METER - SKID CONTROL ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the skid control ECU connector and combination meter connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the table below.

    Standard: 

    TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

    Tester Connection Specified Condition
    WT (S1-35) - (C11-30) Below 1 Ω
    WT (S1-35) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher

    1. NG : REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    2. OK : REPAIR OR REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY (See  OVERHAUL  )
