Inspection Procedure

HINT: Start the inspection from step  1 when using the hand-held tester, and start from step  2 when not using the hand-held tester.

  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY HAND-HELD TESTER (SLIP INDICATOR LAMP) 
    1. Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3.
    2. Start the engine.
    3. Select "SLIP INDI LIGHT" in the ACTIVE TEST and operate the SLIP indicator lamp on the hand-held tester.
    4. Check that "ON" and "OFF" of the SLIP indicator lamp can be shown on the combination meter by the hand-held tester.

    SLIP INDI LIGHT Turns SLIP indicator lamp ON / OFF Observe combination meter
    1. NG : Go to step   3 
    2. OK : GO TO NEXT STEP. 
  2. CHECK SLIP INDICATOR LAMP 
    1. Check that the SLIP indicator lamp turns on for 3 seconds soon after the ignition switch is turned ON.
    1. NG : Go to step   3 
    2. OK : END 
  3. INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY (SLIP INDICATOR LAMP) 
    1. Disconnect the skid control ECU connector.
    2. Turn the ignition switch ON.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the table below.

    Standard: 

    TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

    Tester Connection Specified Condition
    IND (S1-34) - GND (S1-1.32) 11 to 14 V

    1. NG : REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    2. OK : REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSY (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
    NOTE: When replacing the brake actuator assy, perform the zero point calibration (see CALIBRATION  ).
