Inspection Procedure
HINT:
Start the inspection from step 1 in case of using the hand-held tester and start from step 2 in case of not using the hand-held tester.
- PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY HAND-HELD TESTER (SKID CONTROL BUZZER)
- Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3.
- Start the engine.
- Select the item "VSC/BR WARN BUZ" in the ACTIVE TEST and operate the skid control buzzer on the hand-held tester.
- Check that skid control buzzer sounds "ON" and "OFF" with the hand-held tester.SKID CONTROL BUZZER REFERENCE

- NG: Go to step 2
- OK: REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSY (See BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSY )
NOTE: When replacing the brake actuator assy, perform the zero point calibration (See CALIBRATION ). - INSPECT SKID CONTROL BUZZER ASSY
- Disconnect the skid control buzzer connector.
- Apply battery positive voltage to the terminals 1 and 2 of skid control buzzer connector, check that the buzzer sounds.
- NG: REPLACE SKID CONTROL BUZZER ASSY
- OK: Go to next follow T/O
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL BUZZER - SKID CONTROL ECU)
- Disconnect the skid control buzzer connector and the skid control ECU connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.
Standard:
SKID CONTROL BUZZER - SKID CONTROL ECU RESISTANCETester Connection Specified Condition BZ (S3-30) - BZ (V2-1) 1 Ωor less - Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.
Standard:
SKID CONTROL BUZZER - SKID CONTROL ECU RESISTANCETester Connection Specified Condition BZ (S3-30) - Body ground 10 kΩor higher
- NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
- OK: REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSY (See BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSY )
NOTE: When replacing the brake actuator assy, perform the zero point calibration (See CALIBRATION ).
