Inspection Procedure

HINT:

Start the inspection from step 1 in case of using the hand-held tester and start from step  4 in case of not using the hand-held tester.

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY HAND-HELD TESTER (ABS MOTOR OPERATION) 
   1. Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3.
   2. Start the engine.
   3. Select the ACTIVE TEST mode on the hand-held tester.
   4. Check the operation sound of the ABS motor individually when operating it with the hand-held tester.

      Item	Vehicle Condition / Test Details	Diagnostic Note
      ABS MOT RELAY	Turns ABS motor relay ON / OFF	Operation sound of motor can be heard

      Standard: 

      The operation sound of the ABS motor should be heard. 

   1. NG: Go to step 2 
   2. OK: REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSY (See  BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSY  ) 
      NOTE: When replacing the brake actuator assy, perform the zero point calibration (See  CALIBRATION   ). 
2. INSPECT HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (GND2 OF SKID CONTROL ECU - BODY GROUND) 
   1. Disconnect the skid control ECU connector.
   2. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard: 

      GND2 OF SKID CONTROL ECU - BODY GROUND RESISTANCE
      
      

      Tester Connection	Specified Condition
      GND2 (S3-1) - Body ground	1 Ω or less

   1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 
   2. OK: REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSY (See  BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSY  ) 
      NOTE: When replacing the brake actuator assy, perform zero point calibration (See  CALIBRATION   ).
