Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK BUZZER 
    1. Operate the buzzer and check that the buzzer for seat belt warning, key reminder warning and light reminder warning normally sound.
      CHECKING POINTS OF BUZZER

      A All warning buzzer does not sound.
      B Seat belt warning does not sound.
      C Key reminder warning does not sound.
      D Light reminder warning does not sound.
    1. B: Go to step   6 . 
    2. C: Go to step   8 . 
    3. D: Go to step   12 . 
    4. A: Go to next step. 
  2. INSPECT FUSE 
    1. Inspect the AM1 fuse and GAUGE fuse in the instrument panel junction block assy.

      Standard: 

      Below 1 Ω 

    1. NG: INSPECT FOR SHORT CIRCUIT IN HARNESS AND ALL COMPONENTS CONNECTED TO FUSE 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 
  3. INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSY 
    1. Disconnect the combination meter connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard: 

      TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester connection Condition Specified condition
      C6-23 - Body ground Ignition switch OFF Below 1 V
      C6-23 - Body ground Ignition switch ON 10 to 14 V

    1. NG: Go to step 4 
    2. OK: REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSY (See  COMBINATION METER ASSY  ) 
  4. INSPECT IGNITION SWITCH 
    1. Disconnect the ignition switch connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard: 

      TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester connection Condition Specified condition
      I10-1 - I10-2 Ignition switch OFF 10 kΩ or higher
      I10-1 - I10-2 Ignition switch ON Below 1 Ω

    1. NG: REPLACE IGNITION SWITCH 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 
  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    1. Disconnect the ignition switch connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard: 

      TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester connection Condition Specified condition
      I10-1 - Body ground Always 10 to 14 V

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (IGNITION SWITCH - BATTERY) (See  ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE  ) 
    2. OK: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSY - IGNITION SWITCH) (See  ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE  ) 
  6. INSPECT FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY LH 
    1. Disconnect the front seat inner belt assy LH connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard: 

      TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester connection Condition Specified condition
      3 - Body ground Driver side seat belt is fastened 1,200 to 1,460 Ω
      3 - Body ground Driver side seat belt is unfastened 300 to 360 Ω

    1. NG: REPLACE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY LH 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 
  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DRIVER SIDE SEAT BELT SIGNAL CIRCUIT) 
    1. Disconnect the combination meter connector and front seat inner belt assy connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard: 

      TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester connection Condition Specified condition
      C6-32 - B7-3 Always Below 1 Ω

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (See  ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE  ) 
    2. OK: REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSY (See  COMBINATION METER ASSY  ) 
  8. INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSY 
    1. Disconnect the combination meter connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard: 

      TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester connection Condition Specified condition
      C6-25 - Body ground Ignition key is not inserted 10 kΩ or higher
      C6-25 - Body ground Ignition key is inserted Below 1 Ω

    1. NG: Go to step   10 . 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 
  9. INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSY 
    1. Disconnect the combination meter connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard: 

      TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester connection Condition Specified condition
      C6-24 - Body ground Driver side door is closed 10 kΩ or higher
      C6-24 - Body ground Driver side door is open Below 1 Ω

    1. NG: Go to step   11 . 
    2. OK: REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSY (See  COMBINATION METER ASSY  ) 
  10. INSPECT UN-LOCK WARNING SWITCH ASSY 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard: 

      TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester connection Condition Specified condition
      1 - 2 Ignition key is not inserted 10 kΩ or higher
      1 - 2 Ignition key is inserted Below 1 Ω
    1. NG: REPLACE UN-LOCK WARNING SWITCH ASSY 
    2. OK: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (UN-LOCK WARNING SWITCH CIRCUIT) (See  ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE  ) 
  11. INSPECT FRONT DOOR COURTESY LAMP SWITCH ASSY 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard: 

      TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester connection Condition Specified condition
      1 - Body ground Driver side courtesy switch shaft is pushed in 10 kΩ or higher
      1 - Body ground Driver side courtesy switch shaft is free Below 1 Ω
    1. NG: REPLACE FRONT DOOR COURTESY LAMP SWITCH ASSY 
    2. OK: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (DOOR COURTESY LAMP SWITCH ASSY) (See  ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE  ) 
  12. INSPECT FUSE 
    1. Inspect the ALT fuse in the fusible link block assy.

      Standard: 

      Below 1 Ω 

    2. Inspect the TAIL fuse in the instrument panel junction block assy.

      Standard: 

      Below 1 Ω 

    1. NG: INSPECT FOR SHORT CIRCUIT IN HARNESS AND ALL COMPONENTS CONNECTED TO FUSE 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 
  13. INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSY 
    1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard: 

      TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester connection Condition Specified condition
      C6-26 - Body ground ight control switch OFF Below 1 V
      C6-26 - Body ground Light control switch TAIL or HEAD 10 to 14 V

    1. NG: Go to step   15 . 
    2. OK: Go to next step. 
  14. INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSY 
    1. Disconnect the combination meter connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard: 

      TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester connection Condition Specified condition
      C6-24 - Body ground Driver side door is closed 10 kΩ or higher
      C6-24 - Body ground Driver side door is open Below 1 Ω

    1. NG: Go to step   16 . 
    2. OK: REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSY (See  COMBINATION METER ASSY  ) 
  15. INSPECT HEADLAMP DIMMER SWITCH ASSY 
    1. Inspect light control switch of combination switch (See INSPECTION ).
    1. NG: REPLACE HEADLAMP DIMMER SWITCH ASSY (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
    2. OK: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (HEADLAMP DIMMER SWITCH CIRCUIT) (See  ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE  ) 
  16. INSPECT FRONT DOOR COURTESY LAMP SWITCH ASSY 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard: 

      TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester connection Condition Specified condition
      1 - Body ground Driver side courtesy switch shaft is pushed in 10 kΩ or higher
      1 - Body ground Driver side courtesy switch shaft is free Below 1 Ω
    1. NG: REPLACE FRONT DOOR COURTESY LAMP SWITCH ASSY 
    2. OK: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (DOOR COURTESY LAMP SWITCH CIRCUIT) (See  ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE  )
