Inspection Procedure
- CHECK ILLUMINATION
- Operate the rheostat and check that the amount of light for the combination meter assy, the radio, player, the integration control and panel etc.CHECKING ILLUMINATION
A Combination meter does not change. B All lights do not change.
- B: Go to step 6 .
- A: Go to next step.
- Operate the rheostat and check that the amount of light for the combination meter assy, the radio, player, the integration control and panel etc.
- INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSY
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard:
TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITIONTester connection Condition Specified condition 1F-10 - Body ground Light control switch OFF Below 1 V 1F-10 - Body ground Light control switch in TAIL or HEAD position 10 to 14 V
- NG: REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSY
- OK: Go to next step.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
- INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSY
- Disconnect the combination meter connector.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard:
TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITIONTester connection Condition Specified condition C6-26 - Body ground Light control switch OFF Below 1 V C6-26 - Body ground Light control switch in TAIL or HEAD position 10 to 14 V
- NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSY - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSY)
- OK: Go to next step.
- INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSY
- Disconnect the combination meter connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard:
TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITIONTester connection Condition Specified condition C6-27 - Body ground Rheostat switch MAX Below 1 Ω
- NG: Go to step 5
- OK: REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSY (See COMBINATION METER ASSY )
- INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSY
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard:
TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITIONTester connection Condition Specified condition 1F-11 - Body ground Rheostat switch MAX Below 1 Ω
- NG: REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSY
- OK: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSY - COMBINATION METER ASSY) (See ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE )
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
- INSPECT FUSE
- Inspect the ALT fuse in the fusible link block assy.
Standard:
Below 1 Ω
- Inspect the TAIL fuse in the instrument panel junction block assy.
Standard:
Below 1 Ω
- NG: INSPECT FOR SHORT CIRCUIT IN HARNESS AND ALL COMPONENTS CONNECTED TO FUSE
- OK: Go to next step.
- Inspect the ALT fuse in the fusible link block assy.
- INSPECT HEADLAMP DIMMER SWITCH ASSY
- Inspect the light control switch of combination switch (See INSPECTION ).
- NG: REPLACE HEADLAMP DIMMER SWITCH ASSY (See REPLACEMENT )
- OK: Go to next step.
- INSPECT LIGHT CONTROL RHEOSTAT
- Inspect the light control rheostat (See INSPECTION ).
- NG: REPLACE LIGHT CONTROL RHEOSTAT
- OK: Go to next step.
- INSPECT LIGHT CONTROL RHEOSTAT
- Disconnect the light control rheostat connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard:
TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITIONTester connection Condition Specified condition R6-5 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
- NG: Go to step 16 .
- OK: Go to next step.
- INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSY (POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT)
- Disconnect 1C connector of the instrument panel junction block assy.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard:
TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITIONTester connection Condition Specified condition 1C-1 - Body ground Always 10 to 14 V
- NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSY - BATTERY) (See ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE )
- OK: Go to next step.
- INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSY
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard:
TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITIONTester connection Condition Specified condition 1M-4 - Body ground Always 10 to 14 V
- NG: REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSY
- OK: Go to next step.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
- INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSY
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard:

- OK: Go to next step.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
- INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSY
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

- INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSY
- Disconnect 1F, 1J, 1N, 1R connector of the instrument panel junction block assy.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard:
TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITIONTester connection Condition Specified condition 1R-7 - 1F-11 Always Below 1 Ω 1R-7 - 1J-6 Always Below 1 Ω 1R-7 - 1N-2 Always Below 1 Ω
- NG: REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSY
- OK: Go to next step.
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSY - LIGHT CONTROL RHEOSTAT)
- Disconnect 1R connector of the instrument panel junction block assy and light control rheostat connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard:
TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITIONTester connection Condition Specified condition 1R-7 - R6-6 Always Below 1 Ω 1R-7 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
- NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSY - LIGHT CONTROL RHEOSTAT)
- OK: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (EACH OF ILLUMINATION CIRCUIT) (See ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE )
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSY - BODY GROUND)
- Disconnect 1O connector of the instrument panel junction block assy.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard:
TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITIONTester connection Condition Specified condition 1O-2 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
- NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (See ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE )
- OK: Go to next step.
- INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSY
- Disconnect 1P connector of the instrument panel junction block assy.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard:
TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITIONTester connection Condition Specified condition 1P-14 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
- NG: REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSY
- OK: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSY - LIGHT CONTROL RHEOSTAT) (See ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE )
