Instrument Panel Trim Pad Replacement

Callout Component Name

Preliminary Procedure

  1. Remove the instrument panel cluster (IPC) trim plate. Refer to Instrument Cluster Trim Panel Replacement (Solstice) .
  2. Remove the driver knee bolster trim panel. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement (SKY)  or Knee Bolster Replacement (Solstice) .
  3. Remove the instrument panel (I/P) compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement (Solstice)  or Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement (SKY) .
  4. Remove the I/P inflatable restraint. Refer to Instrument Panel Inflatable Restraint Module Replacement (Solstice) or Instrument Panel Inflatable Restraint Module Replacement (SKY) .
  5. Remove the right and left I/P outer trim covers. Refer to Instrument Panel Outer Trim Cover Replacement - Right Side (Solstice)  and Instrument Panel Outer Trim Cover Replacement - Left Side (Solstice) .
  6. Remove the right and left windshield pillar garnish moldings. Refer to Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement .
  7. Remove the I/P extension trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Extension Trim Plate Replacement .
1 I/P Trim Pad Screw (Qty: 17)
CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .

Tighten:  2 N.m (18 lb in)
2 I/P Trim Pad Assembly
Procedure: 
Disconnect the electrical connectors.
