Installation Procedure

  1. Install the transaxle oil cooler pipes to the vehicle.
  2. Fasten the transaxle oil cooler pipe retaining clip to the radiator
  3. IMPORTANT: The correct thread engagement is critical. Crossthreaded fittings can achieve proper tightness value and still leak.
    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  4. Install the lower transaxle oil cooler pipe fitting to the radiator.

    Tighten:  Tighten the fitting to 45 N.m (33 lb ft).

  5. Install the transaxle oil cooler pipes to the transaxle.
  6. Install the transaxle oil cooler pipe retaining nut.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 4 N.m (27 lb in).

  7. Lower the vehicle.
  8. Install the upper transaxle oil cooler pipe fitting to the radiator.

    Tighten:  Tighten the fitting to 45 N.m (33 lb ft).

  9. Install the battery box. Refer to Battery Box Replacement in Engine Electrical.
  10. NOTE: Do NOT overfill the transaxle. The overfilling of the transaxle causes foaming, loss of fluid, shift complaints, and possible damage to the transaxle.
  11. Adjust the transmission fluid level. Refer to Transmission Fluid Checking Procedure .
  12. Inspect for fluid leaks.
