Conditions for Clearing the MIL/DTC

The history DTC clears after 40 malfunction-free warm-up cycles.
The DTC becomes history when the conditions for setting the DTC are no longer present.
The IPC receives the clear code command from the scan tool.

1	Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?	Go to Step 2	Go to Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle in Vehicle DTC Information
2	Install a scan tool. Turn the ignition ON, with the engine OFF. With the scan tool, observe the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) Information parameter in the body control module (BCM) ID Information data list. Does the VIN Information parameter match the vehicle VIN?	Go to Step 4	Go to Step 3
3	Replace the BCM. Refer to Control Module References in Computer/Integrating Systems for replacement, setup, and programming. Did you complete the replacement?	Go to Step 5	-
4	Replace the instrument panel cluster (IPC). Refer to Control Module References in Computer/Integrating Systems for replacement, setup, and programming. Did you complete the replacement?	Go to Step 5	-
5	Use the scan tool in order to clear the DTCs. Operate vehicle within the Conditions for Running this DTC. Does the DTC reset?	Go to Step 2	System OK
