Pressure Bleeding
CAUTION:
To prevent air, moisture and other contaminants from entering hydraulic system, pressure bleeder must have a diaphragm preferably rubber, between air supply and fluid.
- Remove brake fluid reservoir cap, clean cap and area around cap.
- Fill master cylinder reservoir with clean DOT 3 brake fluid.
- Install Brake Bleed Adapter (J-43915) to brake fluid reservoir.
- Connect Pressure Bleed Adapter (J-29532) to brake fluid reservoir.
- Pressurize bleeder equipment to 20-25 psi (1.40-1.75 kg/cm2 ).
- If master cylinder is suspected of having air in its bore, see MANUAL BLEEDING step 2 for procedure on bleeding master cylinder.
- Bleed individual calipers and wheel cylinders. See BRAKELINE BLEEDING SEQUENCE table. Tighten rear wheel cylinder bleeder valve to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Check brake pedal for sponginess. If brake pedal exhibits sponginess, repeat bleeding procedure until condition disappears. Go to step 7 .
- While engine is running and brakes applied, check for brake fluid leaks.
