Diagnostic Procedure

  1. Determine if DTC P0716, P0717 and P0745 are present. DTC's must be eliminated first as a possible cause for DTC P0731.
  2. Using scan tool, check DTC history. Duplicate temperature as when DTC was set. Perform hydraulic pressure tests. See HYDRAULIC PRESSURE TESTS If line pressure is low, go to DTC P0745.
  3. Air check 1st clutch operation. See TRANSMISSION SERVICING - A/T article in AUTOMATIC TRANS SERVICE section. Repair as needed. If clutch air checks okay, disassembly of transaxle will be necessary to inspect internal components.
