Hydraulic Pressure Tests
- Remove transaxle temperature sensor, and install pressure gauge. See Figure . Connect scan tool to vehicle.
- With transaxle at operating temperature, turn engine off and ignition to ON position. Go to MENU SELECTION on scan tool. Select SPECIAL TEST, then LINE PRESSURE.
- Scan tool will request that engine be started. Select RUN on scan tool; test will begin. Scan tool will operate engine at 1500 RPM and command line pressure from 58-220 psi (400-1518 kPa) in 15 psi (100 kPa) increments.
- Ensure actual pressure is within range of that commanded by scan tool. See LINE PRESSURE SPECIFICATIONS table. If line pressure is too high or too low, refer to SYMPTOM DIAGNOSIS procedures under TROUBLE SHOOTING. Using appropriate sealant on transaxle temperature sensor threads, install sensor to transaxle case. Clear PCM memory to remove any stored codes.
