Emergency Seat Operation: Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2001 Saab 9-3. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: The bevel gear must be fitted when the seat is in place but before the bolts are tightened to torque.
  1. Dismantle the Protective Collar.
  2. Apply grease to the gear wheel and install the shaft into the gear housing, making sure the shaft lock is positioned correctly. See Fig 1 .
  3. Put the cover in place and tighten the screws. Make sure the spring is positioned correctly.
  4. Hold on to the seat shaft and press the gear in place.
  5. Screw the gear to the seat base.
  6. Install the front bolt in the lower seat panel. Install the lower seat panel.
    NOTE: Electrically adjustable seat: Install the protection on the front bolt.
  7. Continue to install the seat. See INSTALLATION  under FRONT SEAT.
