Washer fluid level sensor: General

The level sensor consists of a magnetic float arm and a sensor mounted in the washer fluid reservoir.

The SID unit sends B+ to the level sensor via pin 21 and the sensor is grounded at grounding point G30. At normal level, the float arm is level with the switch, the magnet in the float arm closes the circuit and pin 21 of the SID unit is grounded. At low level, the circuit to ground is broken.

The function produces a CHECK message on the SID unit display (70 second delay). See CHECK MESSAGES  .
