DTC B2861, DTC B2862, DTC B2863 & DTC B2864:

- Ensure ignition is off. Disconnect 29-pin seat harness connector located under left front seat. Inspect both halves of connector for open circuit or pin slide-out. Repair as necessary. Install Reference Resistor (86 12 335) on air bag control module side of 29-pin seat harness connector. Disconnect air bag control module wire harness connector. Check air bag control module harness connector terminals No. 10 (Yellow/Blue wire) and No. 11 (Brown/Blue wire) for open circuit or pin slide-out. Repair as necessary. See Figure. Install air bag control module harness connector to Breakout Box (BOB). For diagnostic trouble codes B2863 or B2864, go to step 2. For diagnostic trouble codes B2861 or B2862, go to step 3.
- Measure resistance between BOB test pins No. 10 and 11. If resistance is 2-4 ohms, replace driver-side seat air bag. Go to step 5. If resistance is not 2-4 ohms, repair or replace Yellow/Blue wire or Brown/Blue wire between air bag control module harness connector and 29-pin seat harness connector. Go to step 5.
- Measure resistance between ground and BOB test pin No. 10. If resistance is infinite, go to step 4. If resistance is not infinite, repair or replace Yellow/Blue wire between air bag control module harness connector and 29-pin seat harness connector. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Go to step 5.
- Measure resistance between ground and BOB test pin No. 11. If resistance is infinite, replace driver-side seat air bag. Go to step 5. If resistance is not infinite, repair or replace Brown/Blue wire between air bag control module harness connector and 29-pin seat harness connector. Go to step 5.
- Reassemble vehicle. Clear diagnostic codes in all systems. Road test vehicle at various speeds and loads. Verify no diagnostic trouble codes are present. If no diagnostic trouble codes are present, repairs are complete. If diagnostic trouble codes are present, go to BEFORE REPLACING AIR BAG CONTROL MODULE under DIAGNOSTICS.
