DTC B2441, DTC B2442, DTC B2443 & DTC B2444:

  1. Ensure ignition is off. Disconnect left seat belt pretensioner connector. Check terminals for open circuit or pin slide-out. Repair as necessary. Install Reference Resistor (86 12 095) into left seat belt pretensioner harness connector. Disconnect air bag control module wire harness connector. Check air bag control module harness connector terminals No. 8 (Red wire) and No. 9 (Yellow wire) for open circuit or pin slide-out. Repair as necessary. See Figure. Install air bag control module harness connector to Breakout Box (BOB).
  2. For diagnostic trouble codes B2441 or B2442, go to step  3. For diagnostic trouble codes B2443 or B2444, go to step  4.
  3. Measure resistance between BOB test pins No. 8 and 9. If resistance is 2-4 ohms, replace seat belt pretensioner. Go to step  6. If resistance is not 2-4 ohms, repair or replace Red wire or yellow wire between air bag control module and seat belt pretensioner. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Go to step  6.
  4. Measure resistance between ground and BOB test pin No. 8. If resistance is infinite, go to step  5. If resistance is not infinite, repair or replace Red wire between air bag control module and seat belt pretension. Go to step  6.
  5. Measure resistance between ground and BOB test pin No. 9. If resistance is finite, replace seat belt pretensioner. Go to step  6. If resistance is not infinite, repair or replace Yellow wire between air bag control module and seat belt pretensioner. Go to step  6.
  6. Reassemble vehicle. Clear diagnostic codes in all systems. Road test vehicle at various speeds and loads. Verify no diagnostic trouble codes are present. If no diagnostic trouble codes are present, repairs are complete. If diagnostic trouble codes are present, go to BEFORE REPLACING AIR BAG CONTROL MODULE  under DIAGNOSTICS.
