DTC B1337, DTC B1338, DTC B2337 & DTC B2338:

  1. Ensure ignition is off. Disconnect passenger-side air bag module harness connector. Check terminals for open circuit or pin slide-out. Repair as necessary. Install Reference Resistor (86 12 095) into air bag module harness connector.
  2. Access and disconnect air bag control module. Inspect air bag control module harness connector terminals No. 3 (Red/Yellow wire) and No. 4 (Black/Red wire) for open circuit or pin slide-out. Repair as necessary. See Figure. Install air bag control module harness connector to Breakout Box (BOB). For diagnostic trouble codes B1337 or B1338, go to step  3. For diagnostic trouble codes B2337 or B2338, go to step  4.
  3. *Measure resistance between BOB test pins No. 3 and 4. If resistance is 2-4 ohms, replace passenger-side air bag. Go to step  6. If resistance is not 2-4 ohms, replace Red/Yellow wire or Black/Red wire as necessary. Go to step  6.
  4. Measure resistance between ground and BOB test pin No. 3. If resistance is infinite, Go to step  5. . If resistance is not infinite, repair or replace Red/Yellow wire between air bag control module connector and passenger-side air bag module harness connector. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Go to step  6.
  5. Measure resistance between ground and BOB test pin No. 4. If resistance is infinite, replace passenger-side air bag module. Go to step  6. If resistance is not infinite, repair or replace Black/Red wire between air bag control module connector and passenger-side air bag module harness connector.
  6. Reassemble vehicle. Clear diagnostic codes in all systems. Road test vehicle at various speeds and loads. Verify no diagnostic trouble codes are present. If no diagnostic trouble codes are present, repairs are complete. If diagnostic trouble codes are present, go to BEFORE REPLACING AIR BAG CONTROL MODULE  under DIAGNOSTICS.
