Installing E-Box

WARNING: Incorrect handling of high-voltage components 
  • Electric shock 
  • Short circuit 
  • Fire 
  • Explosion 
    1. → Only appropriately trained and authorised persons are permitted to work on high-voltage vehicles and components.
    2. → Required qualification-High voltage technician or high voltage expert.
    3. → Observe national requirements and legislation for this work.
    4. → Always use insulated tools, e.g. > VAS 6883 - Insulated Tool Set  when working on these components.
    5. → Observe general warning notes for working on the high-voltage system.
    6. → > WM, 2X00IN GENERAL WARNING NOTES FOR WORKING ON THE HIGH-VOLTAGE SYSTEM
  1. Install E-box.
    1. 1.1  Replace seal -1-  .

    2. 1.2  Carefully position E-box.

      Information 

      Replace micro-self-locking screw.

    3. 1.3  Screw in fastening screw -1-  and tighten to > Tightening torque 8 Nm (6 ftlb.)

      Information 

      Immediately after removing a centring pin, screw in and fit the fastening screw.

    4. 1.4  > 9924 - Centring pins-1-  must now be unscrewed.

      Information 

      Replace micro-self-locking screw.

    5. 1.5  Screw in fastening screws -1-  and tighten to > Tightening torque 8 Nm (6 ftlb.)  .

  2. Fit coolant hose -2-  .

    1. 2.1  Remove stopper.
    2. 2.2  Fit coolant hose -2-  and spring band clamp -1-  using > VAS 6890 - spring band clamp pliers  .
  3. Position holder -2-  and fit and tighten screws -1-  .

    > Initial tightening 20 Nm (15 ftlb.) 

    > Final tightening + 90°

  4. Connect electric plug connection -1-  to the E-box -2-  .
