Preparing B-Pillar For Installation

Information 

  1. Fit in B-pillar > B-pillar.

    B-pillar

    1. 1.1  Cut the B-pillar > B-pillar  at the point where it joins the roof leaving an overlap of 30 mm.
    2. 1.2  Fit in and secure the B-pillar > B-pillar.

  2. Make cuts > Separation points  through the B-pillar and body in the overlap areas.

  3. Punch holes > Holes for flow-form rivets  for flow-form rivets.

  4. Drill bore holes > Bore holes for rivets  for rivets through both sheetmetal panels. > Diameter 6.6 mm

  5. Remove B-pillar.
  6. Cut sheetmetal inserts used as a welding backing strip for the two weld areas from the old B-pillar.

  7. Prepare marked areas > Bonding and rivet areas on B-pillar  for bonding and riveting.

  8. Prepare marked areas > Welding areas  for a full weld using inert gas.
