Installing B-Pillar

Information 

• Apply adhesive evenly over the entire bonding surface. 

Information 

• Before final assembly, make sure you fully understand all the work steps involved and carry out a trial assembly without applying adhesive. 
• The bonding process can only be carried out reliably when a smooth and swift sequence of operations is guaranteed. 
• Do not begin bonding work until all materials and tools necessary for later repair work are available. 

1. Tack on sheetmetal insert > Sheetmetal insert  used as a welding backing strip on the body.

2. Position B-pillar and check that it fits perfectly.
3. Apply adhesive on joint areas > Bonding and rivet areas  of the body.

4. Apply adhesive on B-pillar > Bonding area on B-pillar.

   1. 4.1  Apply adhesive evenly on the B-pillar > Bonding area on B-pillar. 

      >5X00IN21 WORKING WITH BODY STRUCTURAL ADHESIVE

      > Application depth 0, 5 mm 

   2. 4.2  Also apply a bead of adhesive all around the bonding surface.

      > Application depth 3 mm 

5. Stick on foam part.
6. Fit in and secure the B-pillar > B-pillar.

9. Apply a full weld to the B-pillar > B-pillar  using inert gas.

10. Bend over edges in the front door aperture > Edges in door aperture, top  using > VAS 6635/5 - seaming pliers  .
