Installing A-Pillar Reinforcement (Lower Part)

Information 

• Apply adhesive evenly over the entire bonding surface. 

Information 

• Before final assembly, make sure you fully understand all the work steps involved and carry out a trial assembly without applying adhesive. 
• The bonding process can only be carried out reliably when a smooth and swift sequence of operations is guaranteed. 
• Do not begin bonding work until all materials and tools necessary for later repair work are available. 

1. Install A-pillar reinforcement (lower part) and check that it fi s perfectly.
2. Apply adhesive on joint areas -A-  of the body. > Application depth 0.5 mm

3. Apply adhesive in areas -A-  on the A-pillar reinforcement (lower part). > Application depth 0.5 mm

   A-pillar reinforcement (lower part)

   1. 3.1  Also apply a bead of adhesive all around the bonding surface. > Application depth 3 mm 
4. Rivet in A-pillar reinforcement (lower part) in areas -A-  . > BLIND RIVETS 999.190.229.01

5. Plug-weld the A-pillar reinforcement (lower part) in areas -B-  using inert gas.

6. Resistance spot-weld the A-pillar reinforcement (lower part) in areas -C -  .

7. Apply a full weld to the A-pillar reinforcement (upper and lower part) > A-pillar reinforcement (upper part and lower part)  using inert gas.
