Installing A-Pillar

- Apply adhesive evenly over the entire bonding surface.
Information
- Before final assembly, make sure you fully understand all the work steps involved and carry out a trial assembly without applying adhesive.
- The bonding process can only be carried out reliably when a smooth and swift sequence of operations is guaranteed.
- Do not begin bonding work until all materials and tools necessary for later repair work are available.
- Tack on sheetmetal insert > Sheetmetal insert
used as a welding backing strip on the body.
Sheetmetal insert
- Position A-pillar and check that it fits perfectly.
- Remove A-pillar again.
- Apply adhesive on joint areas > Joint areas of A-pillar
of the body.

- Apply adhesive on A-pillar > Applying adhesive on A-pillar.

- 5.1 Also apply a bead of adhesive all around the bonding surface. > Application depth 3 mm

- Resistance spot-weld the A-pillar in area -A-
Spotwelds
- Apply an aluminium weld to the A-pillar in the marked areas > Welding areas.
Welding areas
- Apply a full weld to the insert at the front side > Insert
using inert gas.
Insert
- Screw in self-tapping screw -1-
