Installing Rear Side Panel

Information 

• Before final assembly, make sure you fully understand all the work steps involved and carry out a trial assembly without applying adhesive. 
• The bonding process can only be carried out reliably when a smooth and swift sequence of operations is guaranteed. 
• Do not begin bonding work until all materials and tools necessary for later repair work are available. 

1. Apply adhesive on joint areas > Bonding areas  of the body.

   > Application depth 0.5 mm

2. Apply adhesive.

   Rear side section bonding areas

   1. 2.1  Apply adhesive in marked areas > Rear side section bonding areas  on the D-pillar reinforcement.

      > Application depth 0.5 mm 

   2. 2.2  Also apply a bead of adhesive all around the bonding surface.

      > Application depth 3 mm 

3. Get another person to pull rear closing panel -1-  out slightly and guide rear side panel -2-  in underneath it.

   3. Perform aluminum welding on rear side panel > Rear side section.

   4. Fold over sheet-metal brackets -1 and 2-  using > VAS 6635/5 - crimping pliers.

   5. Screw self-tapping screws -1-  into closing panel -2-  .
