Installing Rear Side Panel

Information
- Before final assembly, make sure you fully understand all the work steps involved and carry out a trial assembly without applying adhesive.
- The bonding process can only be carried out reliably when a smooth and swift sequence of operations is guaranteed.
- Do not begin bonding work until all materials and tools necessary for later repair work are available.
- Apply adhesive on joint areas > Bonding areas
of the body.
> Application depth 0.5 mm

- Apply adhesive.

Rear side section bonding areas
- 2.1
Apply adhesive in marked areas > Rear side section bonding areas
on the D-pillar reinforcement.
> Application depth 0.5 mm
- 2.2
Also apply a bead of adhesive all around the bonding surface.
> Application depth 3 mm
- 2.1
Apply adhesive in marked areas > Rear side section bonding areas
on the D-pillar reinforcement.
- Get another person to pull rear closing panel -1-
out slightly and guide rear side panel -2-
in underneath it.

- Perform aluminum welding on rear side panel > Rear side section.
Rear side section
- Fold over sheet-metal brackets -1 and 2-
using > VAS 6635/5 - crimping pliers.
Sheetmetal brackets
- Screw self-tapping screws -1-
into closing panel -2-
