Preparing Front Side Member (Front Section) Or Installation

Information 

• Insert the new part into the longitudinal member in order to mark it. 

1. Apply markings -Dimension A-Dimension A-  on the front side member.

   Outer markings

   1. 1.1  Apply vertical markings on the inside and outside of the front side member -Dimension A-Dimension A-  .
   2. 1.2  Make four evenly spaced markings on the side of the front side member.
   3. 1.3  Make one marking at the top and bottom on the front side member at a centre position.

2. Position front side member (front section) using the straightening bracket.
3. Drill holes for threaded connections > Inner bores > Outer bores.

   Outer bores

   1. 3.1  Position bores as shown in > Inner bores > Outer bores. 
   2. 3.2  Drill all bore holes through the front side member [front section)and longitudinal member using a drill. > Diameter 7 mm 
   3. 3.3  Remove front side member [front section).
4. Drill out and countersink bore holes for blind rivet nuts > Bore holes > Bore holes.  > Diameter 11 mm

5. Set blind rivet nuts > BLIND RIVET NUT N.908.568.01  using > VAS 6790 - Compact Booster  and > VAS 6790/67 - supplement set for rivet nuts and bolts. 
6. Prepare bonding areas on the sub-part > Front side member (front section) - outer bonding surfaces > Front side member (front section) - inner bonding surfaces  for bonding.
