Installing Spring Strut Mount

Information 

• Before final assembly, make sure you fully understand all the work steps involved and carry out a trial assembly without applying adhesive. 
• The bonding process can only be carried out reliably when a smooth and swift sequence of operations is guaranteed. 
• Do not begin bonding work until all materials and tools necessary for later repair work are available. 

1. Apply adhesive on the joint area -C -  of the body.

   Apply adhesive evenly over the entire bonding surface. > Application depth 0.5 mm

2. Apply adhesive on spring strut mount.
   1. 2.1  Apply adhesive evenly over the entire bonding surface. > Application depth 0.5 mm 

      Also apply an adhesive bead of sealant all around the bonding surface. > Application depth 3 mm

3. Install spring strut mount and check that it fits perfectly.
4. Position support panel -1-  behind the loosened longitudinal member for wheel housing upper section [inner part)-2-  .

5. Rivet in spring strut mount in areas -B-  . > BLIND RIVET 999.190.229.01

6. Rivet in spring strut mount.

7. Apply a full weld to the spring strut mount -1-  in the marked area.

8. Plug-weld the spring strut mount in area -A-  using inert gas.

9. Screw in self-tapping screws -1-  .
