Preliminary Work For Cleaning Refrigerant Circuit

Information 

• If you do not have a suitable adapter for the expansion valve, you can also drill out the removed expansion valve (the old expansion valve must be replaced in most cases and is therefore no longer required). 
• The control element must be removed before drilling. The expansion valve must then be drilled using a suitable drill bit, for example. (Drill bit diameter: 6.0 mm for example). 
• Some parts may have to be removed from the expansion valve before drilling, depending on the type of expansion valve. 

Information 

• The ignition must be off on hybrid vehicles. This ensures that the shut-off valve for the high-voltage battery refrigerant circuit is open. 

1. Drain refrigerant.

2. Remove air-conditioning compressor.

   > 873419 REMOVING AND INSTALLING AIR-CONDITIONING COMPRESSOR 

3. Remove expansion valve.

   > 877019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING EXPANSION VALVE 

4. Remove desiccator in the condenser and re-install stopper.

   > 875019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING CONDENSER
