Draining Coolant

Danger of scalding
→ Let the fluid cool down.

→ Wear personal protective gear.

Information

The cooling circuit/system must always be drained completely. This ensures optimal filling of the cooling circuit/system.

Switch off ignition and disconnect 12 V battery. This ensures that the low-temperature change-over valve is open.
Disconnect coolant hose -1- for low-temperature system from the coolant line -2- .
1. 2.1 Loosen the clamp -Arrow- and pull off coolant hose -1- .
2. 2.2 Catch escaping coolant.

Rear coolant hose
Drain coolant for the rear low-temperature system using pressure.
1. 3.1 Connect drip hose to coolant line -2- .
2. 3.2 Hold the end of the hose tightly or secure it.
3. 3.3 Screw adapter K22 onto the reservoir.
4. 3.4 Close off the opening of the coolant hose -1- securely using a stopper and wait until no more coolant emerges.
5. 3.5 Connect compressed air hose - still without pressure - to the adapter K22 and slowly increase the pressure to max. 1 bar until no more coolant emerges.
6. 3.6 Repeat Step 3.4 with the drip hose.

Rear coolant hose
Connect coolant lines -2- and coolant hose -1- .
1. 4.1 Reset the compressed air level to 0 bar.
2. 4.2 Remove drip hose.
3. 4.3 Position and secure clamp -Arrow- .

Rear coolant hose
Disconnect coolant hose -1- for low-temperature system from the coolant line.
1. 5.1 Loosen the clamp -Arrow- and pull off coolant hose -1- .
2. 5.2 Catch escaping coolant.

Front coolant lines
Drain coolant for the front low-temperature system using pressure.
1. 6.1 Connect drip hose to the end of the pipe.
2. 6.2 Hold the end of the hose tightly or secure it.
3. 6.3 Close off the opening of the coolant hose securely using a stopper and wait until no more coolant emerges.
4. 6.4 Slowly increase the pressure applied to the cooling system again to max. 1 bar until no more coolant emerges.
5. 6.5 Repeat Step 6.3 with the drip hose.

Front coolant lines
Connect coolant lines and coolant hose.
1. 7.1 Reset the applied pressure to 0 bar and remove compressed air hose.
2. 7.2 Remove drip hose, connect coolant hoses and tighten the clamp.
