Bleeding The Cooling System

- The bleeding process for the cooling system is performed using the -Bleed cooling system-function in the PIWIS Tester.
- Always follow the instructions on the Tester.

- There is no need to create a Vehicle Analysis Log (VAL).
Information
Pay particular attention to the following on V6 Hybrid EU/Rest of World vehicles:
- It is only possible to bleed the system using the PIWIS Tester on vehicles from model year 2021.
- For vehicles up to model year 2020, bleed the system manually.
- Connect a battery charger.
- During the Tester routine and warm-up phase, check the engine oil temperature -1-
and coolant temperature -2-
on the instrument cluster.
The Tester does not monitor the temperatures automatically!
If the temperatures are too high, cancel the process manually!

- PIWIS Tester must be connected in the vehicle.
- Switch on ignition and Tester.
- Start the diagnostic application and select DME control unit in the control unit search screen.
- Switch to the Maintenance/repairs menu and select the function Bleed high-temperature cooling system.
- Observe instructions in the Tester menu: Preconditions must be met!
- Perform the bleeding process in accordance with the specifications and steps displayed on the Tester.
