Removing Outer Side Member (Cabriolet)

Information 

Only make cuts in the top plate. Make sure not to damage the plate underneath when doing this.

Information 

Mark cuts A  in accordance with the new part. Make su e to e ave an overlap of approx. 30 mm with respect to the body.

1. Mark cut on rear outer side member (Cabriolet) at -dimension A-  > Distance 100 mm  and make cut.

2. Disconnect connection points.
   1. 2.1  Remove punch rivets in area -A and C-  using > VAS 852 001 - Body Dent Removal System, Aluminium  and > VAS 6790 - Compact Booster  .
   2. 2.2  Drill out penetrated joints in area -B-  with > Diameter 4 mm  .

3. Unscrew self-tapping screws -1-  .

4. Grind down welded seam.

5. Bend up tab -1-  using > VAS 6635/5 - Crimping pliers  .

6. Heat bonding area using > V.A.G 1416 - Hot-Air Blower  .
