Removing Crankcase Half For Cylinders 1-3
WARNING:
Preloaded or pressurized components
- Risk of eye injuries
- Risk of bruising
→ Wear personal protective gear.
→ Secure components to prevent them from falling off suddenly.
- Remove vibration damper.
- Remove crankcase half on cylinder bank 1.
- 2.1 Unscrew outer screws -15 to 33- .
- 2.2
Unscrew through bolts -1 to 14-
.
Tightening sequence for crankcase

must be unscrewed from threaded joint for crankcase half for cylinder bank 1.

CAUTION: Hot components- Risk of burns
→ Let hot components cool down.
→ Wear personal protective gear.
- Remove the crankcase half from cylinder bank 1 with the help of another person.
- 3.1 Heat sealant along the joint using > VAS 1978/14A - a hot - air blower .
- 3.2
Lift the crankcase half -Arrows-
at the marked positions -Arrows-
using a suitable tool.
Lever positions on crankcase
- 3.3 Push in the handle of a hammer -2- above the oil-pump pressure channels and lift off crankcase half -Arrows-1- .
