Installing Rear Wheel Bearing Housing
Information
- When replacing the brake discs and/or brake shoes, it is necessary to grind down the brake shoes for the electronic parking brake (EPB). The function is started using the PIWIS Tester.
- Grinding applies only to vehicles with grey cast-iron brakes. It is not necessary to grind down PCCB brake discs/brake shoes.
- Insert spring strut -1-
into the wheel bearing housing -4-
.
- 1.1 Fit connecting link (suspension/stabilizer) -3-
and fit new collar nut -5-
(do not tighten).
When tightening the collar nut later , counter at the hexagon wrench face of the connecting link -arrow- .

- 1.2 Fit new screw -2- at the top and fit collar nut -6- (do not tighten).
- 1.1 Fit connecting link (suspension/stabilizer) -3-
and fit new collar nut -5-
(do not tighten).
If the wheel bearing or the wheel bearing housing have been changed:
Fit cover plate on wheel bearing housing and fit and tighten screws -1- .
> Tightening torque 10 N.m (7.5 ft lb.)

Install parking brake spreader device (actuator).

Install parking brake shoes.
