Installing Ignition Coils For Cylinders 1 To 3

  1. Only when installing ignition coils for cylinder 1: 

    Install ignition coil -1-  for cylinder 1.

    Overview of right cylinder bank

    1. 1.1  Insert ignition coil -1-  for cylinder 1 and make sure it is seated correctly.
    2. 1.2  Connect and lock electric plug connection for ignition coil -4-  for cylinder 1.
    3. 1.3  Fit and tighten screw on ignition coil -5-  for cylinder 1.

      > Tightening torque 9 Nm (6.5 ftlb.) (6.6 ftlb.) 

  2. Only when installing ignition coils for cylinders 2 and 3: 

    Secure cable duct -3-  .

    Overview of right cylinder bank

    1. 2.1  Press cable duct -3-  onto ball pin? in the opposite direction to -A rows-  and check that it is fitted securely.
    2. 2.2  Engage oxygen sensor lines -2-  in cable duct -3-  .
  3. Only when installing ignition coils for cylinders 2 and 3: 

    Install torque support bracket -3-  .

    Torque support bracket (shown on V8 biturbo)

    1. 3.1  Position torque support bracket -3-  and fit screws on torque support bracket -1 and 2-  .
      1. 3.1.1  Tighten screw -1-  .

        > Tightening torque 55 Nm (41 ftlb.) 

      2. 3.1.2  Tighten screw -2-  .

        > Tightening torque 23 Nm (17 ftlb.)
