Leaking fuel supply lines
- Emerging fuel
- Risk of fire
- → Perform leak test.
WARNING:
Caustic fluids
- Danger of chemical burns
- → Wear personal protective gear.
- → Ensure that there is good ventilation.
- → Avoid contact with caustic fluid.
- → If you do come into contact, wash off immediately with plenty of warm water and contact a doctor if necessary.
- Position and secure the heat shield.
- 1.1 Heat shield on cylinder bank 1-2: > Tightening torque 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)
- 1.2 Heat shield for exhaust pipe on cylinder bank 3-4: > Tightening torque 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)
- Secure engine in installation position.
- Install rear-axle cross member.
- Install struts.
- Perform leak test.
> 200101 CHECKING FUEL SYSTEM (HIGH-PRESSURE SIDE) FOR LEAKS .
- Connect the battery.
> 2X00IN WORK INSTRUCTIONS AFTER DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY .
- Connect a charger.
- Activate the Drain fuel tank function for 30 seconds using the PIWIS Tester.
- Perform First start
function using the PIWIS Tester.
> 200107 BLEEDING FUEL SYSTEM ON HIGH-PRESSURE SIDE - FIRST START FUNCTION .
- Install rear underbody cover.
> Refer to the appropriate service information. .
- Install air cleaner housing.
- Install engine compartment lid.
> WM, 557819 REMOVING AND INSTALLING ENGINE COMPARTMENT LID .
- On Boxster vehicles: Close the convertible top.
- Perform suspension alignment.
