Preliminary Work

Information 

• The spring strut and wheel bearing housing are removed together. 

1. Remove engine compartment cover.

   > WM, 852219 REMOVING AND INSTALLING TECHNICAL EQUIPMENT SPACE COVER

2. If the wheel bearing, wheel hub or wheel bearing housing are replaced:  Remove the relevant hub cap using > 9229/1 - puller hook  and loosen the lock nut at the wheel side (from the central tension bolt) -1-  Operate the brake while doing this (2 mechanics required).

3. Raise the vehicle

   > 4X00IN LIFTING THE VEHICLE

4. Remove wheel

   > 440519 REMOVING AND INSTALLING WHEEL

5. Remove brake disc

   > 465019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT BRAKE DISC
