Shudder/Vibration On Acceleration

Issue: The customer states there is a vibration/shudder in the vehicle when accelerating.

Information:

This vibration/shudder may be due to a problem in the transfer case. A simple way to diagnose this is to unplug the transfer case module at the transfer case. If the vibration/shudder goes away, then the transfer case should be replaced.

NOTE: Due to the change in torque transfer when the module is disconnected, noises (such as wheel bearings or differential bearings) may change. Such noises should not be confused with the transfer case and will require further diagnosis.
