Packing Lithium-Ion Module With Module Status "Warning" (Critical)
- Electric shock
- Risk of short circuit
- Risk of fire
- Risk of explosion
→ Only appropriately trained and authorized persons are permitted to work on high-voltage vehicles and components.
→ Required qualification. High voltage expert.
→ Observe national requirements and legislation for this work.
→ Always use insulated tools, e.g > VAS 6883 - Insulated tool set , when working on these components.
→ Observe general warning notes for working on the high-voltage vehicle electrical system.
> 2X00IN GENERAL WARNING NOTES FOR WORKING ON THE HIGH-VOLTAGE VEHICLE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
- Irritation to respiratory system
→ Use protective gear (breathing mask, protective clothing)
→ Wear protective gloves and goggles
→ Extract the resulting dust using a suitable device
Information
- The lithium-ion battery must only be packed by an appropriately trained and authorized person using the additional instructions "Packing critical batteries in new metal containers".
- Metal containers and hollow glass granulate (Extover® or PyroBubbles®) are required for packing a critical battery.
- The metal container and hollow glass granulate are supplied by a logistics expert named by Porsche, who will take away the packed battery (Europe).
- The metal container and hollow glass granulate are available from the dealer organization in the event of a critical battery (rest of the world).
- The critical battery must only be packed in a designated work area.
- The lithium-ion battery with battery status "Warning" (critical) must be disposed of i n accordance with local legal requirements and transport regulations.
- Mask terminals of the lithium-ion module.
- Open metal container.
- Measure 25 cm from the floor inside the metal container -1-
and mark this on the container wall (inside) using a water-resistant marker -2-
.
Height marking (shown as an example"
- Wear protective clothing, breathing mask as wall as goggles and protective gloves.
- Position air extraction hose -2-
in the metal container -1-
in order to extract the dust and switch on the air extraction system.
Extraction (shown as an example)
- Fill hollow glass granulate -2-
into the metal container -1-
up to a height of 25 cm until the line marked on the inner wall of the container is completely covered by hollow glass granulate.
Filing hollow glass granulate
- Place lithium-ion module on hollow glass granulate in the metal container.
Sample illustration
- 7.1IMPORTANT: The gap -A- between the lithium-ion module and metal container must be at least 12 cm.
- 7.2IMPORTANT: It must be possible to cover the lithium-ion module with at least 25 cm of hollow glass granulate from above.
Information
IMPORTANT: The metal container must be completely filled with hollow glass granulate, right up to the top edge. - 7.1
- Fill the metal container up to the top edge with -1-
hollow glass granulate -2-
.
Filled metal container (shown as an example)
- Close the metal container and secure it with the tension locks.
- Affix hazardous goods stickers -2- to the long side of the metal container -1- in a clearly visible position.
- Affix the UN 3480 sticker -3- to the long side of the metal container -1- next to the hazardous goods sticker.
- Affix the part number (sticker) -4-
of the battery to the long side of the metal container -1-
next to the UN 3480 sticker, or write it in clearly legible writing using a water-resistant marker.
