Preliminary Work

  1. Observe warning notes.

    > 2X00IN GENERAL WARNING NOTES FOR WORKING ON THE HIGH-VOLTAGE VEHICLE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

  2. Isolate the high-voltage system from the power supply and complete the relevant documentation.

    > WM, 2X00IN ISOLATION FROM POWER SUPPLY PRIOR TO PERFORMING MAINTENANCE TASKS ON HYBRID VEHICLES

  3. Only for vehicles with PDCC:  Disconnect 48 V system.

    > 270703 DISCONNECTING AND STARTING 48 V SYSTEM

  4. Disconnect the battery.

    > 270619 REMOVING AND INSTALLING BATTERY

  5. Remove front wheels.

    > 440519 REMOVING AND INSTALLING WHEEL

  6. Remove wheel housing liners on both sides of the vehicle.

    > WM, 505619 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT WHEEL HOUSING LINER

  7. Remove front-axle support.

    > 400819 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT-AXLE SUPPORT 

  8. Remove spring struts with drive shafts

    > Refer to the appropriate Service Information for Removing and installing front spring strut

    > 433019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT AIR-SPRING STRUT

  9. Support the engine on the body. (Engine safety device)

    > 1001IN SUPPORTING ENGINE ON THE BODY (ENGINE SAFETY DEVICE)
