Adjusting headlight mounting towards Y-axis

Information 

If work is carried out on the headlight or retainer plate, the installed fastening screws must be replaced by micro-encapsulated fastening screws (see PET).

Micro-encapsulated fastening screws must be tightened only once to the specified torque.

Micro-encapsulated fastening screws must be replaced after loosening them.

1. Insert headlight into the mounting.
2. Close the front lid and check the gap dimensions between the headlight and front lid. → 5X00IN41 GAP DIMENSIONS
3. Remove headlight.

   Procedure for lowering the headlight: 

4. Loosen fastening screws -1-  .
   1. 4.1. Press headlight mounting -2-  in the adjusting element area down - F-  to ensure that the position of the adjusting element cannot be changed.
5. Screw in the adjusting ring -3-  on the adjusting element to lower the headlight mounting -2-  .
   1. 5.1. Screw fastening screw -1-  anti-clockwise.
   2. 5.2. Do not exert pressure on the headlight mounting -2-  during the adjustment process.

   Once the required adjustment height is reached: 

6. Tighten fastening screws.
   1. 6.1. Press headlight mounting in the adjusting element area down to ensure that the position of the adjusting element cannot be changed.

   Procedure for raising the headlight: 

7. Loosen fastening screws -1-  .
   1. 7.1. Press headlight mounting -2-  in the adjusting element area down to ensure that the position of the adjusting element cannot be changed.
8. Screw out the adjusting ring -3-  on the adjusting element to raise the headlight mounting -2-  .
   1. 8.1. Screw fastening screw -1-  clockwise.
   2. 8.2. Do not exert pressure on the headlight mounting -2-  during the adjustment process.

   Once the required adjustment height is reached: 

9. Tighten fastening screws.
   1. 9.1. Press headlight mounting in the adjusting element area down to ensure that the position of the adjusting element cannot be changed.
10. Insert headlight into the mounting.
11. Close the front lid and check the gap dimensions between the headlight and front lid.
12. Repeat the adjustment procedure if necessary.
13. Remove headlight.
14. Tighten fastening screws to the specified torque. Tightening torque 8 Nm (6 ft. lb.)
