Preliminary work

NOTE: Air springs can become kinked/fall out
  • Risk of damage to air springs

→ Deactivate the levelling system before raising the vehicle.

→ Check the bellows before lowering the vehicle.

  1. Drain refrigerant. → 870317 DRAINING AND FILLING REFRIGERANT
  2. Remove ignition key.
  3. Disconnect the battery. → 270619 REMOVING AND INSTALLING BATTERY
  4. Move bonnet into service position. → 552213 SECURING LID (SERVICE POSITION)
  5. Remove engine cover (design cover).
  6. Remove both air cleaner housings. → 242519 REMOVING AND INSTALLING AIR CLEANER HOUSING
  7. Remove cowl panel cover. → 508719 REMOVING AND INSTALLING COWL PANEL COVER
  8. Remove filler neck from windscreen-washer reservoir. → 926019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING WINDSCREEN-WASHER RESERVOIR
  9. Remove the front strut. → 408619 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT STRUT
  10. Remove front wheels. → 440519 REMOVING AND INSTALLING WHEEL
  11. Remove cover for front underbody. → 519219 REMOVING AND INSTALLING COVER FOR FRONT UNDERBODY
  12. Remove front wheel housing liners. → 505619 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT WHEEL HOUSING LINER
  13. Drain coolant. → 193817 DRAINING AND FILLING COOLANT
  14. Remove rear cardan shaft. → 393519 REMOVING AND INSTALLING REAR CARDAN SHAFT
