Information

If cold or excessively low-tempered components are sealed to each other by applying sealant, leaks can occur because of condensed water forming or components distorting. Components must be uniformly at least → Temperature: 17°C.

  1. Apply sealing compound to the sealing faces of the lower timing-case cover.
    1. 1.1. Seal face between timing-case cover and cylinder head gasket.
    2. 1.2. The area between the timing-case cover and the oil pan is not sealed until the oil pan is installed (section on Subsequent work).
    3. 1.3. Seal the area between the timing-case cover and engine block → Applying sealing compound.
