Installing Main Catalytic Converter On Cylinder Bank 5 To 8

1 - Primary catalytic converter
2 - Nut; replace
3 - Seal
4 - Main catalytic converter
5 - Holder on transmission cross member
6 - Bolts
7 - Transmission cross member
8 - Holder on the body
9 - Bolts
10 - Screws on transmission cross member

Push new exhaust clamp onto exhaust pipe.
Ensure sealing faces of exhaust system are clean.
Replace flange gasket and push over the studs of the main catalytic converter.
Move main catalytic converter into installation position and fit new nuts and bolts.
Tighten nuts between the primary and main catalytic converters to the specified tightening torque. → Tightening torque: 23 Nm (17 ft lbs.)
Tighten the screws used to secure the catalytic converters to the body and cross member to the specified tightening torque. → Tightening torque: 23 Nm (17 ft lbs.)
Fit the exhaust clamps. For details of installation position and tightening torque, see → Installing Exhaust System .
Install the transverse strut. Screw in screws -arrows- (don't forget the centre screw!). → Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ft lbs.)
