Preliminary Work
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2010 Porsche Cayenne, 2009 Porsche Cayenne, and 2008 Porsche Cayenne. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
Information
- If an air cleaner housing, which was last replaced four years ago, is opened before the relevant service interval is reached (e.g. visual inspection at the request of the customer or similar situation), the air-cleaner element must be replaced and the housing must be cleaned.
- A used air-cleaner element (which was last replaced four years ago) must not be re-installed due to the risk of leaks in the housing (loss of elasticity in the air-cleaner seal over time).
- Always replace the air-cleaner element when you open the air cleaner housing (which was last replaced four years ago)!
- Remove engine compartment cover at the front and left. → Removing front trim (engine compartment)
- Detach intake pipe from air cleaner housing cover. See → Removing Air Box For Throttle Housing (Intake Pipe Upstream Of Throttle Valve)
