Coding Tiptronic Control Unit

Information 

  1. PIWIS Tester II 9818  must be connected to the vehicle and ignition switched on.
  2. Select the vehicle type and start the PIDT.
  3. Press [F12] to switch from the vehicle type to the list of control units. Then perform an automatic control unit search.
  4. Select Tiptronic and Maintenance/repairs  with the cursor keys and press [F12].
  5. Select Control unit replacement  with the cursor keys and press [F12].
  6. Select Read data  (coding) with the cursor keys and press [F8] to start.
  7. The PIWIS Tester II 9818  screen displays the message Data was read out  . Press [F12] to continue.
  8. Switch off ignition and replace Tiptronic control unit. → Removing Tiptronic Control Unit 
  9. Switch on ignition.
  10. Following control unit replacement, the data that was read out (see Step  6) is loaded when you select the Write data  menu. Press [F12] to continue.
  11. The System Tester displays the message Data has been written  . Press [F12] to continue.
  12. Exit the menu, switch off ignition, lock vehicle and read out fault memory once more.

    Information 

    • If the data cannot be read out using PIWIS Tester II 9818 , the listed variant must be coded using the menu item "Codings".
