Changing Oil For Final Drive

Information

Vehicle must be horizontal in order to fill rear final drive .

Place oil collecting container underneath the vehicle.
WARNING:
Hot fluid
- Danger of scalding
→ Let the fluid cool down.

→ Wear personal protective gear.
Unscrew oil drain plug -B- and drain the oil.

Screw in oil drain plug -B- with new sealing ring. → Tightening torque: 35 Nm (26 ft. lb.)
WARNING:

→ Wear personal protective gear.
Unscrew oil inspection plug -A- .
Use Manual Metering Pump WE 1372 to fill oil into the inspection plug opening -A- .
1. 5.1. The oil fill quantity is specified in the table Oil Adjustment Specifications For Front-Axle Final Drive And Rear Axle Differential .
2. 5.2. The oil level in the final drive can be measured using an angled piece of wire, for example.
Screw in oil inspection plug -A- with new sealing ring. → Tightening torque: 35 Nm (26 ft. lb.)
