Changing Oil For Final Drive

Information 

  1. Place oil collecting container underneath the vehicle.
    WARNING: Hot fluid
    • Danger of scalding

    → Let the fluid cool down.

    → Wear personal protective gear.

  2. Unscrew oil drain plug -B-  and drain the oil.

  3. Screw in oil drain plug -B-  with new sealing ring. → Tightening torque: 35 Nm (26 ft. lb.) 
    WARNING: Hot fluid
    • Danger of scalding

    → Let the fluid cool down.

    → Wear personal protective gear.

  4. Unscrew oil inspection plug -A-  .
  5. Use Manual Metering Pump WE 1372  to fill oil into the inspection plug opening -A-  .
    1. 5.1. The oil fill quantity is specified in the table Oil Adjustment Specifications For Front-Axle Final Drive And Rear Axle Differential  .
    2. 5.2. The oil level in the final drive can be measured using an angled piece of wire, for example.
  6. Screw in oil inspection plug -A-  with new sealing ring. → Tightening torque: 35 Nm (26 ft. lb.)

  7. Check oil for rear final drive. → CHECKING OIL FOR REAR FINAL DRIVE  - section on "Checking"
