Reworking cylinder head

  1. Clean removed cylinder head carefully (parts washing machine, solvent naphtha). Remove residual sealant on the sealing surface, for example, with film eraser (commercially available) or acetone.
  2. Check sealing surface of cylinder head for distortion using a straight-edge.

    Permissible unevenness of the parting plane: 0.05 mm 

  3. Cylinder heads with distorted sealing surface can be repaired by plain-milling them.
    NOTE:
    • The admissible peak-to-valley roughness of the sealing surface is 0.015 mm

    Permissible unevenness of parting surface after machining: 0.03 mm 

    The permissible wear dimension -X- for the height of the cylinder head is: 141.65 mm
