Installing coolant pump

INSTALLING COOLANT PUMP PROCEDURE

No. Procedure Instruction
1 Rework new replacement metal seal Cut new replacement metal seal (combination seal) for coolant pump and water guide housing at the connecting webs.
2 Cut metal seal and install coolant pump Cut all metal seals between coolant pump and water guide housing at the connecting webs. Position new seal and coolant pump simultaneously and fasten. Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.).
3 Fit and tension the drive belt Fit drive belt, see REMOVING AND INSTALLING DRIVE BELT 
4 Fit engine carrier Screw in centring screw (M6) by hand. Tighten fastening nut on engine carrier using special tool 9614. Tightening torque: 30 Nm (22 ftlb.).
NOTE:
  • The tightening torque is specially matched to the special tool (length and lever arm).
  • Tighten centering screw. Fit bracket for catalytic converters. Bleed the cooling system.
